McLoughlin’s Beach -birdlife in abundance

McLoughlin’s Beach, the start of 90 Mile Beach, is approx 25 minute drive from Port Albert. Take a walk along the boardwalk, almost a kilometre long, with native grasses on either side and beautiful views of the inlet. Walk through the boat car park to the boat ramp where you will be greeted with many birds waiting for boats to come in. I’ve kayaked along Corner Inlet under the bridge and I’ve seen many different species of birds.
Walk across the footbridge and along the coastal path which takes you to the magnificent pristine surf beach with crystal clear water - a photographer’s dream! There are 124 bird species that have been observed in the McLoughlins Beach area. To read more about the different species seen check out this page.
